Heading East

We left Portland yesterday and started heading east. Spent last night in Mountain Home, ID - just east of Boise. Today we took off for Wyoming. Had a LONG drive across southern Idaho . . . Which was pretty boring. Lots of brown in every direction. Nothing like northern Idaho, which we drove through last week on our way to Oregon. It was very green and lush.

The highlight (?) was stopping in Blackfoot, ID to check out the Idaho Potato Museum. They had a very large stone potato out front and a pretty lame gift shop inside.

The last few miles of Idaho were pretty scary - narrow roads and lots of hills. We were glad to get to Wyoming.

Jackson Hole (where we are staying) is very cute. Classic western town, although very upscale. Lots of tourists though.

Tomorrow we are going up to Grand Teton National Park.

UPDATE: Change of plans. Shortly after finishing this blog post last night, I started feeling bad. I quickly realized that it was from the high altitude. I was up sick most of the night. Kent was feeling bad too, although not as bad as me. Still feeling a little rugged. We've decided to stay in Jackson Hole another day/night until we're feeling better. Hopefully back on track tomorrow.

Location:Jackson Hole, WY
