Three more states (that makes 11)

We left Montana on Friday morning and decided to take the long (ie. scenic) route, rather than the interstate. Based on some local advice, we traveled across Idaho on Hwy 12, which runs alongside the Lochsa River. It was curvy and slow, but really beautiful.














After reaching Washington, we headed to Walla Walla for the night. We decided Saturday morning that we would stay over another day to look around more. It was actually very nice to spend a couple of days in the same hotel and town. We had a lovely day exploring downtown, visiting some wineries, and going out for a leisurely dinner.













We left Walla Walla this morning and headed for Oregon. Once again, a beautiful drive. We have really enjoyed the variety of landscapes that we've seen. Each state and/or area is so different. In Oregon, we drove along the Columbia River. Unfortunately it started to rain as we got closer to the area where we wanted to visit the waterfalls along the route. We did bundle up and take some quick photos though.































Spending the night outside Portland . . . Will be meeting up with Jim and Karla tomorrow. The four of us will spend three nights in McMinnville (wine country) and three nights in Neskowin (Oregon coast). Stay tuned!
